Sports:
I'm not big into sports, but I do love the Hudson Valley Renegades, who are our local minor league baseball team. I love going to one of their games in the summertime with my son or my whole family, especially around the 4th of July, and just feeling so happy to be part of a great American tradition of baseball and all that goes along with a game - the warm summer weather, the long days, the comradery of the crowd.
Music:
I grew up on the music of the '60's, '70's and '80's, but I love all good music that is rhythmic and has a musical or lyrical message.
Movies:
Favorite Movies - These Are Oldies But Goodies -
Dr. Strangelove, Harold And Maude, The Beatles Yellow Submarine,
Some Newer Ones I Love - You've Got Mail, Castaway, Saving Private Ryan, Forest Gump (Note the Tom Hanks theme - he's the best actor of our time), The Incredibles, Kangaroo Jack (you've got to have young kids to appreciate the last 2)
TV:
I'll watch a little news/documentary/history stuff now and then - CNN, The History Channel, Discovery Channel and the like. I'm too busy with Yuwie and other online and offline activities to spend much time in front of the tube.
Books:
I love a handful of writers who can make me laugh out loud when I'm reading - Hunter Thompson, Kurt Vonnegut, Richard Brautigan. Sadly, they're all gone now, but they leave their wonderful work behind as their legacy.
Heroes/Idols:
Besides any particular person or historical figure, I admire people who treat others with respect under all circumstances and who stand by their principles and are true to their beliefs no matter what the consequences are for them. Also, I admire any persons who practice kindness and fairness in their daily lives. Anyone who can put a bit of humor on top of that is aces in my view.
