"Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides, and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for the second time in the history of the world, man will discover Fire." --Teilhard de Chardin
"For, behold, the Dominion of God is within you." --Luke 17:21
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in You?" --1Corinthians 3:16
"The finite alone has wrought and suffered; the Infinite lies stretched in smiling repose." --Emerson
"I am in every religion as a thread through a string of beads." --Krishna, in Bhagavad Gita
"Who of you by taking thought can add one cubit to his stature?" --Jesus
"The body is the sepulchre of the soul. All creatures in whom the higher nature is in servitude to the bodily impulses are properly termed dead, inasmuch as truth is dead within them, having no way of manifesting itself....The soul, being immortal, and having been born again many times, and having seen all things that there are, whether in this world or in the other worlds, has knowledge of them all and it is no wonder that she should be able to call to remembrance all that she ever knew about virtue, and about everything...for all inquiry and all learning is but recollection." --Plato
"Souls never die, but on quitting one abode always pass to another." --Pythagoras
"The Soul is a spark of starry essence. Souls, when they are set free from the body, pass into the Soul of the All, which is akin to them in nature and essence." --Heraclit
"Philosophy is the way to true happiness, the offices whereof are two: to contemplate God, and to abstract the soul from corporeal sense." --Socrates
"Behold, all souls are mine; the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is mine; the soul that sins shall die." --Ezekial 18:4
"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God?" --Psalms 42:2
"You, beloved, also believe that I had every grace with no effort, but this is not so; in fact, I must say that I never received a gift or a favor or virtue without great endeavor and constant prayer, ardent desire, and profound devotion. When we have given God everything we can, although it is very little, God comes to the soul..." -- The Blessed Virgin Speaking to St. Elizabeth of Hungary
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of it's victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busy-bodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
-- C.S. Lewis
"We have tried everything to get rid of suffering. We have gone everywhere to get rid of suffering. We have bought everything to get rid of it. We have ingested everything to get rid of it.
Finally, when one has tried enough, there arises the possibility of spiritual maturity with the willingness to stop the futil attempt to get rid of and, instead, to actually experience suffering. In that momentous instant, there is a realization of that which is beyond suffering, of that which is untouched by suffering. There is the realization of who one truly is."--Gangaji
"The force that created the unimaginable splendors and the unimaginable horrors has taken refuge in us, and it will follow our commands." --St, Catherine of Siena
"A house divided against itself cannot stand." --Mark 3:24
To mention a few other interests - I generally enjoy sharing and increasing awareness of the current condition of our world and it's future. I care very deeply for all life aboard this vessel we call Earth. I am genuinely concerned about the aggressive, oppressive, war mentality that dominates most thinking. It is not isolated to any one religion, race, gender, or ethnic group.
I take great interest in living naturally. By this I mean feeding our bodies Real food made in the garden of God, not our Man-made factories. Drinking pure water whenever available, not the chemically polluted municipal tranquilizer.
Regularly exercising or getting involved in outdoor activities is something I enjoy very much! Especially with the spiritual community here in Denver. There is a heightened consciousness and respect for each other and for nature. It develops such a deep sense of peace and friendship.
The most interesting thing to me now and most of my life has been spiritual development. How do I live a spiritual life and still hold a job or go to school? What does it really mean to be spiritual? Do I need to give up everything I own and travel to some remote place to find someone who knows?
I'm glad to say with confidence the answer to that last question is No. There are teachers even here in Denver. But making certain you've found Integrity is very important.
Peace to All who read this!
Sports:
I like European Football(soccer). I don't really have a favorite team but if i had to choose i'd probably say Nottingham.
Since I've live in Denver most my life i'm also a Denver Bronco fan. Not very opinionated when i comes to college sports. Except for when i was going to school at UNC in Greeley, CO. I was a Bears supporter.
