Music:
Visit our Website at WWW.THEROUNDERS.US to hear our own music.
The music we listen to and that we are influenced by to write our own music, is that of the 1920's - 40's; Hot Jazz, Swing, Western Swing, New Orleans, Big Band, old Hawaiian, etc., very old hymns/christian, and very old country western. Sorry, but NO to MODERN COUNTRY.
Movies:
I don't have one particular favorite, i like a lot of movies. I really enjoy 1950's sci-fi stuff, but nothing that I can say is my favorite one over another. My wife and I both love the Three Stooges shorts, we like silent films and Frank Capra movies, many classic hollywood movies and silent pictures, with glamour queens and kings in them like Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Jean Harlow, Marilyn Monroe, Louise Brooks, Carole Lombard, Betty Davis, Gary Cooper, William Powell, Clark Gable, Cary Grant, Rudolph Valentino, you know, historical stuff , the list goes on.
TV:
I love Lucy of course, Sponge Bob, Three Stooges, Green acres is also very silly and fun, all the old classic television programs like Leave it to Beaver, the most modern thing we like is probably seinfeld. we like a lot of silly junk.
Books:
the Bible, into American history, christian history, right now i'm learning about David livingston.
Heroes/Idols:
Jesus Christ over all- for music inspiration I like Al Jolson, Benny Goodman, Hank williams Sr., Bob Wills and Billy Jack Wills, Jimmie Rodgers, Fletcher Henderson, Jimmie Lunceford, the Boswells Sisters, Eddie lang, Django Reinhardt, Annette Hanshaw, Eddie peabody, Paul Whiteman, the Modernaires, Glenn Miller, Emmet Miller, Bix Biederbeck, Harry James, and the list goes on - This may be a good American music history study finding out who these people are!
