"Martin Luther King Jr., We must use time creatively, as the time is always ripe to do right" 52 years old Female Fort Campbell, TN Hometown: Seattle, Everett Washington
Right at this moment, I'm interested in empowering people to realize their true self-determination, and empowering mother earth to survive. Graduated Dec 07 Summa Cum Laude in Social Work, now enrolled at University of Tennessee Graduate School. Goal is to intern at VA Hospital/Vanderbilt to become clinical counselor for veterans living wit PTSD. Here in Tennesse at Fort Campbell, to help my daughter who is/was a CPT in the US Army. She is now in the Guard, as the deployment to Iraq and the outrageous bulls**t factor was so traumatic that she could not or would not stay on active duty. I am also a Veteran, one of the original WACs, so we are a VERY patriotic family, but believe America is slowly strangling herself. My son-in-law is once again in Iraq, sigh. Please come home safe, all of you.
Sports:
Music:
Listening to airos.org, Native American music.
Movies:
I have hundreds of favorites, to pick a few: Wit, Whale Rider, On Golden Pond, Purple Rain, now Iron Man...sheesh soooo many! Just watched Disturbia, great flick!
TV:
Sadly, I am an American Idol junkie, rehab possibilities no no no. Other favs, Battlestar Gallactica, Heroes, The 4400, Rescue Me, The Closer, Saving Grace, Dexter, Extreme Home Makeover....I would crap my pants for a kitchen like that :o)!
Books:
Just read "On Killing" as my specialty is treating PTSD, primarily military folk and their families, also "War and the Soul." Ayn Rand is a favorite, along with Jonathan Kellerman, James Patterson, Laurel Hamilton, and the infamous Stephen King.
Heroes/Idols:
I most admire those who face extreme adversity and refuse to submit to anger. I admire those that use their faculties instead of becoming a complacent lemming. I admire those who understand what freedom really is, and allow others the choice of their own freedom. I admire those who do not act or react because of their particular appendeges. I admire pacifists, Buddists, those who follow the red road, ecologists and naturalists. I admire artists and poets. I admire passionate commitment. I admire resilience, my children and my nieces.
