Lee Mitchelson is listed in the American Artists Bluebook. She was one of the original Charter Members of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and is on the Arizona Committee of the NMWA.
A published artist, she was personally selected by reknown horse book author Robert Vavra to illustrate two of his books, The Unicorn of Kilimajaro and Vavra's Horses. She is currently working on two books, one of her Pegasus art and one of Mustang Horses. Lee is available to discuss independent publishing ventures as an illustrator.
Lee had brief academic Fine Art training in design and illustration, was mentored in landscape painting by California "Eucalyptus School" Plein Air Master, Karl Albert, and attended landscape workshops by Nita Engle -- but is self-taught in Animal Art.
Lee has exhibited in Invitational exhibits throughout the country and her art is in many International collections.
Some of the notables who own art by Lee are Ellen Degeneres, Robert Vavra, William Shatner, Bo Derek, Ben Stein, Rosie O'Donnell, The James A. Michener Estate, Late President Gerald Ford, The Estate of Mary Martin, Fleur Cowles, Barnaby Conrad and the Wrigley and DuPont Families.
