Weston-super-Mare pier burning down is probably the only real news people have been talking about in Somerset since the summer as it has alot of memories attached to many people that like the traditional seaside holiday in UK.
A pier of a similar age was also burned down in the North of the Country.
Weston Pier has a live webcam set up for anyone wanting to watch the rebuild as it happens - there has been alot of scaremongering that it won't be rebuilt - but the owner were insured and are very positive about the rebuild - the new pier will hold one of the official Olympic Flags in 2012 - the peir shuld be rebuilt over the next 2 years. |
