Article: Learn to Breathe

"Breath is life." Shortness of breath equals shortness of life and tightness in chest could be a sign of something really serious. Are you wheezing? Gasping? Do you have Low energy? Chest pains?
All of these are related to how well you breathe. Dr. Robert Hyatt, Director of the Mayo Clinic Pulmonary Function Laboratory, stated that 'the average patient has lost half of his lung function by the time he sees a doctor for shortness of breath."

Mike White does hands-on and self help breathing work with people and sells many great breathing and nutrition products. He offers FREE Breathing Tests and Evaluations. Heart attacks, cancer, strokes, asthma, speech problems and every disease known to mankind is worsened or improved by how well we breathe or the quality of our respiration. Our peak performance such as in activities requiring mental acuity, athletics, acting, speaking or singing is compromised. Ask yourself, "how good is MY breathing." If you know that you sometimes have trouble breathing, I recommend that you take the breathing test.

Some questions to consider, according to Mike, about your breathing are:

Are you a diaphragm (belly) or rib (chest) breather?
Do find yourself holding your breath often?
How high can you quickly and quietly count during one exhale?
Is there a pause between breaths? How long is it?
How long can you hold your breath at the end of a natural exhale?
(without passing out)
Do you breath through your nose or mouth?
How would you describe your breathing? Easy? Effortless? Full?
Shallow? Quick? Labored?
Have you ever thought about it before?

Breathing properly is one way for the body to ward off dis-ease and health-related problems. You will find some helpful information on: Breathing Development, Research, Education, Services, Programs for Superior Health, Peak Performance, Self Expression & Life Extension. He also offers Self-help and health practitioner training programs in case you are interested.
