Successful internet marketing depends more on visitors (website traffic) than on actual product(s)!

Example: There are thousands of sites that offer digital cameras and related products. This is a very good product, which most of the population is interested in. But without visitors (website traffic) there is no sales of the product. With so many sites offering the same products, it is extremely difficult to get a sufficient flow of visitors to all, or even most, of these sites. Most "unique" website traffic comes from the search engines, where users type in keywords, such as "digital cameras". The thousands, or even millions, of results that return our not randomly displayed (try it out for yourself - go to google and type in "digital cameras" - notice the top few sites that are returned, then search it again and you'll notice the same sites will be returned.). This is determined by the page rank of the site. Many things determine a pages ranking, 2 of the more common deciding factors are:

1) Link Popularity - backlinks from other sites to the site offering the products being searched for. The more links back to this site the higher the link popularity is. The webmasters get backlinks several ways, such as (A) Link Exchanging (not always the most popular with search engines, as they really like one way links to the site, rather than seeing links to and from the same 2 sites) (B) 3 - way linking has grown in popularity as of late, offering webmasters the opportunity to exchange links with 2 other sites, each of the 3 total sites linking to 1 of the other sites, in a triangle configuration, but not linking to the site that links to them, thus avoiding backlinking to the same site that is linked to theirs (just a way of fooling the search engines abit) (C) Posting blogs, articles, forum discussions, etc about really any subject and including a link back to their site(s).

2) Uniques Traffic - loads of traffic from unique sources. I other words traffic that doesn't originate from the same source, be it from the same IP address, same city, same state, etc. The search engines want to see the which site has more worldly credibility. There are thousands of Auto-Surf and Traffic Exchange sites on the internet that offer some help, but utilizing only one or just a few is likely to do more harm than good, as even though many of the hits to the website come from different users, the actual source of the visitors are routed through the Auto Surf or Traffic Exchange sites servers and showing up as multiple hits from a single source. So you have to use many of these traffic generating sites to spread out and show multiple sources. This is very time consuming, and again not always very affective in getting customers or increasing page ranking.

Now to discuss an "Old" but "Very Effective" internet marketing ploy to get tons of unique visitors and increase page ranking in the process. This is a scam of sorts, but perfectly legal if used right. Some webmasters will target large communities of diverse population, such as Yuwie (with 600,000 members) and basically post a blog, article, etc that is intended to, well for lack of better words, piss us off! They will write about how stupid and niave we all are, about how we are doomed to fail, how we participate in manipulating people, etc. Just whatever they can come up to dig deep under our skins. Making sure to dig in deep enough that we feel we must go out and defend ourselves by reading the junk that they've written and post our comments. They don't care that all the comments are negative. That isn't even part of the marketing stategy. The stategy is to draw in loads of unique visitors, thus increasing the sites popularity.

Just Remember!

Do not visit these blogs, posts, forums, etc...they are intentionally written to draw in comments and visitors from angry people wanting to defend what they believe in....this is a common internet marketing ploy...do not fall into the trap...these people intentionally post blogs about large groups, such as Yuwie, to draw in the agry masses...by doing so they have just created a huge source of free traffic to their blog or website....this gives them lots of unique visitors that the search engines love and inturn the search engines give them a higher page ranking....again the best thing you could do to get back at this person is nothing, cause with no visits to his post he will get no attention from the search engines or other website visitors....by driving traffic and attention to his post we would potentially drive away future Yuwie members. Let's promote Yuwie by visiting the sites that have good things to say about Yuwie and leaving comments.

Rather than defending ourselves on these peoples sites, let's go out and post articles, blogs, etc of our own, detailing our experiences with Yuwie and how we feel about the opportunities it offers us. There are thousands, if not millions of Article Directories, Blog sites, Forums, etc that allow you to post for "FREE" about anything you want, well within reason and the law. If we get enough positive awareness out on the net it will push all the negative posts back in page ranking, thus making all the positive posts show up higher in the rankings and ranking the negative in shadows. What we would like to see is when someone searches about Yuwie that all the "Positive" results show up on all the first 10 plus pages of the search results, as not many web surfers scroll past the first few pages, all the "Negative" posts will get little to no attention. Thus we have just promoted a positive image of Yuwie to potential new Yuwie members, and done our part to increase Yuwie's growth.

As I mentioned, there our plenty of places that allow you to post for free all over the internet. I operate Fast Article Directory, and I allow my users to use the directory free, post as many and as often as they want, and I also allow for free advertising under each category, in the (Advertise Here) links. So feel free to use my site or any of the many others, but if these negative posts about us and Yuwie have gotten you mad then go ahead and make your voice heard, but do it right. Don't do it on these people sites, create awareness in the right way. I assure you this will get back at them with much more impact than confronting them on their turf.
