| No kids, no jobs for growing number of wives |

So, the growing trend right now is mothers staying home with their kids. This has been accepted, finally, and really isn't considered as being lazy. At least that was my perception, anyway.
But what if a woman chooses to stay home, even if she doesn't have kids? According to the article (link) she stays home, cooks really good meals, clips coupons, and has a few hobbies.
Personally, I would be bored to death. I remember when I didn't have kids. I decided stay home for the first three months of our marriage because I didn't want to start a job only to quit immediately. I was pretty efficient at cleaning and really had nothing to do all day, except chat a little online, surf the internet, and then take a walk to get Dunkin' Doughnuts Coffee.
When we moved near Bloomington, IN, I immediately applied at Lowes Home Improvement Center. I got the job and started working in the Outside lawn and Garden Department.
It was the first full time retail job I actually liked. For one thing, I was able to work outside all day, unless I got hot, then I would work in the Greenhouse for a little while, then it was back outside.
You were required to study, which I did. They had all kinds of information that would would have to pay a lot of money for in the form of books. A lot of that information I still use when dealing with plants and gardening.
I guess if I remained childless longer, I may have found more things to do other than work and keep our small cabin clean. Come to think of it, after having five kids, I have no idea what I did with the time I had then, but I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
What do you think? Should a woman, or even a man stay home even if (s)he didn't have kids?
