Lost Love
 
i gave you my love
then I set you free
you threw that love
right back at me
 
we were once so close
there was nothing we couldn’t share
you drifted away
now no longer do you care
 
i’ve cried into my pillow
and dreamed of you each night
you no longer care for me
i’m all alone at night
 
so one more time
i set you free
live your life as you will
you still have a friend in me

The Arms of a Friend

I'll take your hand

But I won't lead your way

I'll walk beside you

And guide along the way

I'll whisper softly in your ear

The words you’re longing for my dear

I'll kiss your lips and touch your skin

Bring out our passions from deep

within

Pull you close and hold you dear

Take away all pain and fear

In the darkness of the night

I'm afraid love and can’t be your light

For within me shadows dwell

I'm in my own lonely hell

You'll find your wings so you can fly

I cannot soar, I fear to fly

Can't enter your heart, I've a wall of my

own

My chains are dense as you can see

Can't break your chains they're to

heavy for me

Can't you see I need to be free

A Hole In My Heart

you know you have left

a hole in my heart

who will mend it

now that we’re apart

i knew the time would come

when we would no longer

be together

but the time was to brief

a friend tells me

move on with your life

you are still friends

and will be for life

a life i see

without your fond embrace

is a life with empty dreams

                         with a hole in my heart

our time together

has brought me such joy

each time we would meet

was like heaven to me

when first we met

i was shy and scared

you were patient and kind

and the fear went away

i told you

that i would always

 be here for you

till you had  no need of me

the days with you

made me complete

the nights with you

nothing could compete

our time ran out

your need of me gone

still i bask

in the love that you’ve shown

thank you so much

for giving me such joy

you will always hold

             a special place in my heart

 A Broken Heart

A Broken Heart

a broken heart

crying in the night

the love she lost

and without a fight

she gave you her heart

with no strings attached

then she set you free

hoping you would come back

for a time you came back

and she loved you all the more

but then you became to busy

to see that her heart was sore

she turned to another

who needed her for a time

but that time came to an end

and again she is alone

as the tears she is shedding

for the love she thought she found

the love who is to busy

                       although he is not bound

seems like only yesterday
mom left me with mimi
on that april day
and she returned with that
bear in her arms
i only wanted you sis
thru the years we have argued
and we have cried
alway you were there for me
right by my side
we are not as close
as i would like for us to be
but you always live in my heart
my wish for you this birthday
is all the things you want in life
you only deserve the best
life has to offer
i love you sis

although it seems for real

tossed aside

like a discarded shoe

yet still not over you

but one day

and you shall be

my grave and weep.
I am not there,
I do not sleep.

I am a thousand
winds that blow.
I am the diamond
glints on snow.

I am the sunlight
on ripened grain.
I am the gentle
autumn rain
When you awaken
in the mornings hush,
I am the swift
uplifting rush
of quiet birds
in circled flight,
I am the soft stars
that shine at night.

Do not stand
at my grave and cry,
I am not there,
I did not die.
