First off, I'm so glad you are here! I just know we're going to have some fun! There are already some great people here. Now we get the bonus of your presence. :)
I've been saying I'd get some helpful tips up for several days. I have only been here at Yuwie for two weeks. LoL! So this is all I have to share at this point...
The help section covers most everything, I've needed information on so far. If you can't find it, I'd be happy to help you. There are many helpful people here. There are many Yuwie help groups. I've joined two. Check out the Y Guys profile page!
Ask, ask, ask! I've also read a lot of tips in people’s profiles and blogs.
Seems most who have asked me for help are asking about navigating the site. That's a big question to answer. To state it as simply as I can, From the control panel, you can access your (from top to bottom, left to right) account setting, private messages, friends, referral information, earnings, pic, blog, comment management, add schools, find clubs, add favorite pages, add news feeds, and log out. There are two control buttons, one to the left of the page by your pic, and one at the top of the page... You can also choose to view your profile, or edit your profile. I can go into that a bit more, but I think its self explanatory. You might want to know when you are viewing your profile page, your control button will switch to the rightside, again, by your picture. You always have a control panel tab at the top of the page, no matter where your looking.
The top bar, is where you go to chose layouts, browse layouts, and other members profiles, search for clubs, and find help articles.
The things I'm reading most on other people's profile as Yuwie tips:
~ are reminders that a page view counts after it's been viewed three seconds. If you use your control panel to send messages, the person doesn't get a page view.
This is from the help section about what counts as a page view. Since I've read so much about it, I feel I should add it.
What actually counts as a paid page view?
When anyone views any of these pages, it counts as 1 page view for you:
1. your profile page
2. your blog pages
3. view all your friends
4. view all your comments
5. your picture pages
6. if someone views one of your shared layouts
When you view any of these pages, it counts as 1 page view.
1. any of your control panel pages, including but not limited to: settings, messaging, friends, referrals, favorites, etc.
The following does not count as a page view:
1. Refreshing/reloading a page
2. Any page that's viewed within 3 seconds of the last page doesn't count
~ Make a splash page
~ Make referrals, in creative ways. Go to the referral button and click on tools, or check out some of the help groups about Yuwie for additional information.
* My own tip is to add information, pictures, blogs, join or create groups for more page views. -If you used my referral link, your personal page views are good for us both. It will be the same for your referrals, and their page views, for the two of you.
Oh, I asked about this one! Soren had to help me. :) To get your friends and referrals to always show on your profile page (you want others to see their pics, so maybe they get an extra page view) you go to the friends button/tab, and select your friend; there is an option to add as top friend. You can then proceed to place them on the top or bottom row of your profile page. Anyone you don't move will show up, only when a person clicks view all, above your profile list of friends.
Don't forget to open your Pay-Pal account. Pay-Pal is the preferred payment method by Yuwie. It's free, safe, and secure. (I've been using Pay-Pal problem free, for several years now.)
