| You can help increase the RSR !! |
|
Did you think you have no influence on Yuwie's RSR (Revenue Sharing Rate) ? that's WRONG ! Use your common sense :
* Who pays Yuwie ? -Advertisers * How much can they afford to pay Yuwie ? -Depend how much people actually buy (conversion rate) * Why would people click on an ad and eventually buy something ? -Because they are interested in the ad (see where i'm going ?) * Why would people be interested in the ad ? -Because it's targeted to the content of the page (google power) * How can my page display interesting ads -Just by being interesting ! Ads will automatically match the content of the page :
page full of pics = no keywords = uninteresting ads = less conversion for advertisers = less money for Yuwie = less money for you
page full of content = more keywords = matching ads
People reading content = people interested in this content = people interested in the matching ads = more conversion for advertisers = more money for Yuwie = Yummy Yuwie !
So the bottom line is follow theses guidelines and you will increase Yuwie's RSR :
- Write interesting content about something else than getting pageviews ! People come back to your page mostly because they are interested in what you have to say.
- Quit sending pic comments, they don't contains keywords and they slow down Yuwie (see this post)
- Eventually, if you want to go extreme, target your content to keywords that pays well. For example, write an article about a luxury watch you like, you will get readers interested in expensive watches, and you will get ads from luxury watches online shops
Makes any sense ?
Other people are blogging about this matter : - Ostawlaga's blog add the original idea to encourage shopping online thru the Yuwie shop section (next to
the friend's feed on the control panel). This way Yuwie will get a cut
from the partner shop and that will increase the RSR !
- Rey's blog is summing it up and provide some other useful links
UPDATE : Yuwie has recently been banned from google AdSense for violating the TOS, as sharing the ads revenue is considered an incentive for users to click on the ads, so I guess what you've just read doesn't really make sense any more unless Yuwie contract another context related advertiser. In the meantime, I suppose we have to cope with theses stroboscopic, scammy looking, vision damaging, fluorescent horrible adverts :( Hope they'll find better advertisers very soon, theses ones are scaring my referrals away!
If you heard of other idea or other related blogs, please refer them to me i will add them here |
