Is that YOU GOD ??
Have you ever wondered if God talks to you? If he listens to your pleas, your prayers? How does he answer you? I believe that God talks to us in all sorts of ways: by an impression, a song, a verse of scr i pture, a thought from a book, through the words of a friend or even sometimes a stranger perhaps an angel unaware. God's spirit my 'hound' you by softly and repeatedly bringing softly to mind. But you should be suspicious of anything that makes you felt driven or in any way obsessed. The voice of the Good Shepherd leaves you with a sense of spiritual uplift and rejoicing ... never fright. Second Timothy verse 7 says, "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but  spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline."   The voice of God in our hearts will never contradict God's word !!! Condemnation, discouragement, fear, or confusion do not come from God, but from the enemy of our souls. It's our choice who we listen to and believe. I love this poem .. no I didn't write it and I don't know who did but I think it's awesome.
God's Voice
Stills you
Leads you
Reassures you
Enlightens you
Encourages you
Comforts you
Calms you
Convicts you

Satan's Voice
Rushes you
Pushes you
Frightens you
Confuses you
Discourages you
Worries you
Obsesses you
Condemns you

God has saved my butt plenty of times.
Alone, drunk and suicidal at the young age of around 22
I was homeless, climbing up the edge of a very steep gravel pit.Looking down I had noticed how high I had climbed without realizing.
I wondered how I had gotten so high,at the same time how the heck was I going to get down?
Dizzy,my foot slipped a bit,one of the beers I had fell out of my jacket pocket.A minute or so later I heard it smash on the rocks below.I looked up ,the top was closer than the bottom, but it was still pretty high,I should just let go,no point in going further,I won't be missed.
Then my fingers dug deep into the face off the cliff as my arms started pulling me up,another beer fell to the bottom,I was climbing with help from somewhere. After I reached the top I sat on the edge and looked to the sky.
Tears rolled out of my eyes,I wondered why a force would want me to survive something that I brought upon myself.
I still do wonder, but I am also thankful.

Sweet Dianna, ever lifting your friends' hearts; we friends appreciate the uplift more than we can say!

As far as 'talking to God' goes, I always think of an interview with Mother Teresa:

REPORTER: 'When you pray, is there some special prayer you say?'

MOTHER TERESA: 'When I pray, I say nothing. I just listen.'

R: 'And what does God say?'

MT: 'He says nothing; He just listens. And--if you don't understand that--you don't understand 'prayer.''
