Demonstrating The Gospel Pt. 2

In this lesson you will learn how the gospel is to be presented and what Jesus came to demonstrate. As a believer you are to demonstrate the gospel.

  1. How the gospel is to be presented – Acts 2:22-24.
    1. Acts 2:22 – “Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested (approved, verified, identified, pointed out, accredited) by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know.”
    2. Three ways the gospel is to be presented.
      1. Declaration and demonstration.
      2. Message and miracles.
      3. Word and works.
  2. What Jesus came to demonstrate.
    1. Acts 10:38 – “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
    2. Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
    3. Matthew 14:14 – “And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.”
  3. Believers are to do the Great Commission – Mark 16:15-20.
    1. Verse 15 – “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”
    2. Verses 17 – 18 – These five signs will follow those who believe.
      1. “In My name they will cast out demons.”
      2. “They will speak with new tongues.”
      3. “They will take up serpents (accidentally) and will not be harmed.”
      4. “If they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them.”
      5. “They will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
    3. Verse 20 – “And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.”

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  • When did you learn that you are called to demonstrate the gospel?
  • Share a time the gospel was demonstrated in your life.
  • Share a recent experience of demonstrating the gospel in declaration and demonstration, message and miracles, or in word and works.

BE A DOER OF THE WORD

Every day on the highway of life there are people who are lying beside the road. Many of them don’t have a pulse spiritually and God has called you to not pass them by but to give them what you have, which is the authority of the name of Jesus Christ. You have the power of the Spirit of God, the ability to minister God’s life, His healing, His forgiveness, His grace, and His peace.
