Thelma Pope = My Queen of The Universe
My mother, My Queen of The Universe, stands on high.
Giving life to eight children yet refused to sigh.
Love and respect she instilled in me so dearly.
I tried to bestow more than saying, "happy Mother's Day" yearly.
My mother is as beautiful as a falling star out of reach,
descending towards Dauphin Island's sandy beach.
Her life she placed on hold since teaching me was a priority.
From ABCs and 123s graduation came even as a minority.
