As most who have visited my page will know I live in a small city called Lismore in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Last Tuesday, the nineth, Lismore was hit with an enormous hail storm! Old timers say it was the biggest and my destructive hail storm they can remember! The Australian Government has declared Lismore as a natural disaster zone. There were hundreds of houses and buildings damaged. Thousands of cars, along with mine...:( were trashed!

I was at work on that faitful day and because the storm hit so quickly and so savagely, two of us from where I work were caught out and our cars couldn't get under cover in time. I've added some of the photos I took of the aftermath of the storm. There were reports of some hail stones as big as grapefruit!! The ones that hit our cars were the size of golf balls as you can see in the first photo. That is one of my workmate's holding some of mini missiles.

Oh well, at least no one was seriously hurt! Thank goodness!! Although we need to feel sorry for all the animals and birds that would have suffered! Many of our gorgeous feathered friends were brought into local vets for help...:(

ps....I have put 'Hail to Lismore' in the title as everyone who has been affected by the storm as pretty much the same attitude as I have, "oh well, such is life! " and we just get on with it!
