Proper way to ADD Friends from User and Advertisement perspective
Seems to be quite a controversy among some about adding friends, and using those ADDER PROGRAMS.  So let's break it down in to Simple explanation and terms.

Yuwie has set up this site, allows you to have friends, certain elements of Yuwie functionality are credited pageviews. Every function of Yuwie has advertisement that directly or indirectly produces revenue for the site, that in turn we share a % of the profits.

The Proper way to add a friend, based upon the functionality of Yuwie to to find that persons profile, and click the ADD ME Button.  You can find Friends via Yuwies system by using the SEARCH or BROWSE or HOME button on the top menu bar of each yuwie page. ( If it hasn't been obscured it with a pimped profile). You can also find friends from Viewing the pages of your other friends. Simple.

Now lets look at this functionality.  When I use the HOME/SEARCH/BROWSE   features to find a friend, I am generating an Advertisement opportunity. Yuwie uses Google and Adbrite.  The google ads I would have to click on to generate revenue, BUT and the GIANT But here is that Abrite has CPM or Banners that are paid by the amount of times they are shown.  Do you understand that? Each time the Adbrite banner CPM is shown Yuwie earns money that is paid out to us.  Re-read that if it's not clear!

So as I hit a search I see a Abrite Banner, ( plus 1 add credit for Yuwie)

I put in my criteria for search and get results (plus 1 add credit for Yuwie).

I see a persons Picture, I click on it (plus 1 add credit for Yuwie - Plus one Pageview Credit for Profile I go to).

I find the ADD ME Button I click it. That takes me to the My Control Panel (plus 1 add credit for Yuwie - Plus one Pageview Credit for Me).

I add my note, and click send. Then my Control panel comes up again ( plus 1 add credit for Yuwie - Plus one Pageview Credit for Me)

So My doing this the Proper Way, I am generating a minimum of 5 advertisement opportunities for Yuwie, 1 pageview for the potential friend and 2 pageviews for myself.

All those Friends Adder Programs, and Paid Friends Adder Programs - Take you directly to the Your Control Panel to click send friend request.  Losing Yuwie and the Community 4 pageviews of Advertisement opportunity. And the pageview Credit to the person you want to add.  Some Friend :)

If I find friends from an existing friends profile, I am still generating some advertisement credits and pageviews for my friend.

If tons of people circumvents the system and uses the Friend Adder Programs those 4 pageviews a POP add up.  They add up Quick.

Notice the RSR has dropped from Last month? Is it a Direct correlation?  Could be? Not for me to say because I am not privy to that data.

Thankfully Y-guy has made code changes to stop some of the adder programs, but new ones will come up again.

People will be asked to recruit that program, spam the message boards about a new way to add friends, but Hopefully By Now, some of you can educate them on way it is a Bad thing, why it is hurting the community as a whole, and Why they should use Yuwie as it is set up and intended.

So Go make a Friend today, but do it in the Yuwie Way it was intended

Make sense Now?
Eric G

Thanks a bunch Eric. I have had some in my downline asking about the adder programs. I knew about the pageviews and SOME of the ad related stuff, but this is just what they need to know. I'll be sending them here to read this for themselves.

Eric, this is again information that everyone should see.

In this world of fast food, we want everything now and are willing to cut all corners and often don't understand when we are hurting ourselves.

Keep up the great work!

Bill

You are 100% ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!!! I learned this by accident. I made 89 cents last month. I was new and had only been online here 7 DAYS!!! I was fortunate to get some referrals. 3 were very active. I recently asked the Yuwie staff about page views... YOU MUST PHYSICALLY GO TO THER PERSON'S PROFILE OR IT WILL NOT COUNT AS A PAGE VIEW FOR THEM. That is what the Yuwie staff told me. People are posting bulletins that suggest to just go to your control panel and click on "leave comment' , etc..., rather than go to their page. To quote Yuwie, "That counts as a page view for you NOT for them." Thank you for posting this very important blog...We need to drive this home. I'm going to post a blog as well on this subject!

Good blog and explination and there are groups that do not just bring you to the add page of someones profile but bring you to the persons profile so you do add friends the correct way , so not all add friend groups are bad just make sure that the groups you are involved with do it the correct way . I will make sure that the ones I am involved with are doing it the correct way and if you do not mind I will post a link to your blog in the ones that are not .

Great blog, I always wondered about that whole one click add, I like to go to the page to add the person, see their interests and stuff before I make the decision anyway. :)
