Hello everyone

Hello everyone, sorry I have not been around. I sure hope over the last few months everyone has had a better time than I did. These last 6 months for me have been the worst. I got sick then my dression set in and then I started drinking again. It has been one hell of a roller coaster ride. I am now starting to get myself back on track but it is going to take a while. Slow but sure will win the race. Anyway that is a long story made short without going into too many details. Again to all my friends I say I am sorry but I am glad to be back. I may not be back every day for hours at a time like I was but I'll be around.

Hello everyone.
Hello everyone. I hope you all had a great holiday. For me my meneires disease has been acting up like crazy for the last couple of months. I can't even lay down without feeling dizzy now. I also have a sleeping disorder and on top of that I am living with and taking care of my aging father. My father is getting more forgetful and does less and less everyday. I was burning myself out. My brother bless his soul knew this and took my father and myself out to his place in the country for a while. All I had to do basically was relax and recuperate. The problem is it did not give me access to a computer. Living in the country they only have a dail-up connection and they have 3 teenagers. LOL Anyway I am home now and ready to get things going again. Take care my friend.

5 minute fudge wreath recipe by Rachael Ray as seen on Oprah
Five-Minute Fudge Wreaths: Chunky Chocolate Fudge Wreath with Walnuts and Currants
Recipe courtesy of Rachael Ray
Five-minute fudge wreaths This super-simple recipe will be a hit at your holiday party! Try all three varieties: the Chunky Chocolate Fudge Wreath with Walnuts and Currants, the White Chocolate Wreath with Pistachio and Cranberry or the Goober and Raisinette Wreath!

INGREDIENTS
  • 12 ounce package semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk (save the can)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 8 ounce can walnuts, plus more for topping
  • 1/2 cup raisins or dried currants (a couple of handfuls)
  • candied red and green cherries to decorate top (like holly)
  • softened butter to grease an 8 inch round cake pan

  1. Grease an 8-inch round cake pan with softened butter. Pour the chocolate and butterscotch chips, condensed milk and vanilla into a medium saucepan. Put the pan on the stove and turn the heat to low.
  2. Cover the empty condensed milk can with plastic wrap and put it in the center of the round cake pan.
  3. Stir the chips and milk until they melt together, about 3 minutes. Stir in nuts and raisins. Scoop the fudge into the cake pan all around the plastic-covered can in the center to form a wreath or ring shape. Let it be all bumpy on top. Keep pushing the can back to the center if the fudge moves it away from there. Cut the red cherries in half with scissors and the green cherries into quarters. Use the green pieces to make leaves and the red to make holly berries. Decorate the fudge with several groups of holly berry sprigs made from the cherries and garnish with walnuts between the sprigs.
  4. Put the fudge in the fridge and chill until firm. Remove the can from the center, then loosen the sides and bottom of the fudge with a spatula. Cut the fudge into thin slices to serve.
To give the wreath as a gift-wrap in cellophane and secure with a bow or ornament.

Variations:
White Chocolate Wreath with Pistachio
and Cranberry

  • Substitute the chocolate chips with white chocolate chips, 1 1/2 ounce bag plus 1 cup.
  • Substitute 1 to 1 1/2 cups of shelled natural pistachio nuts for walnuts.
  • Substitute 1/2 cup dried sweetened cranberries for currants.
Goober and Raisinette Wreath
  • Swap butterscotch for peanut butter chips
  • Swap large whole peanuts for walnuts used in original recipe (such as peeled Virginia Peanuts)
  • Swap 1/2 cup large raisins for currants in original recipe

Stuffing Contest

Hello everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to let you know about a contest I am holding. I am going to be having Christmas dinner at my brothers but I am cooking turkey for new years day. I have my own old faithful stuffing recipe but I am looking for something new to try. I am asking that people send me theirs. For every person that sends me a recipe you will automatically recieve 5 pageviews. The recipe that I choose to use will recieve an additional 20 pageviews for a total of 25. The winning recipe will also be posted on my site before Christmas for others to try. After new years I will post comments that I recieve giving you credit. This contest will close at noon (my time) on Friday December 21. Only one recipe per person. If you choose to send me a recipe that is a secret please send the recipe to me as a message and post a comment on the blog saying you sent it to me and no one will get it but you will still recieve your pageviews and I will still post the comments I recieve. Good luck everyone.

As you can see there has only been one entry in the contest so Brenda automatically wins. We tried here stuffing/dressing on new years day and it was great. It was the first time any of us has used corn bread for stuffing. Check out her site she has a lot of other nice recipes to try as well.

November Earnings

Hello everyone. Here are my earnings since I started in August.

Month                   Pageviews                       Earnings

August                      17,869                         $0.73

September              104,016                         $3.01

October                  172,428                         $3.54

November               182,083                         $5.46

It is growing month after month but not this month. There are a couple of reasons. One I have been sick and done nothing more than return pageviews. The second reason is for some reason most of my referral tree has stopped being active. There are the basic ones that keep plugging along everyday but the rest have stopped. My referral tree has not grown in the last month. As you see for all of last month I had 182,000 pagviews. We are now half way through the month and I only have 51,500. That is down a full 40,000 in half the month. Here is to hoping it picks up and for a better January. Patricia
