| Gamestop Reopens Legendary Halo 3 Pre-Orders | |
If you thought you missed your chance to pre-order the Legendary Edition of Halo 3,
complete with kitty-sized Spartan helmet, think again. Gamestop has
resumed taking reservations for the $130 bundle, though it's likely
just for a very short time.
You just know someone is going to end up having to cut that helmet off of their cat after its noggin gets stuck. Just you wait. | | Posted: 8/18/2007 at 21:59 | Read 22 times | 0 comments | Leave Comment |
 | Sony Gets Green | |
Most folks make at least a token effort to recycle their newspapers,
soda cans, and cardboard, but most of us nerdly types have an entire
closet full of outdated tech that one spring cleaning away from bulking
up a landfill. Sony is doing its part to help reduce the clutter by
teaming up with Waste Management to launch the Sony Take Back recycling
program--but there are a few caveats.
For starters, you have can't just put your stuff out on the curb,
you have to bring it to one of 75 physical locations. Sony promises to
have at least 175 locations available within a year, ensuring that
every state has at least one, but for now, unless you're in
California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Minnesota, or Wisconsin, you're a
bit screwed. According to Sony, a mailing option will also soon be available.
Secondly, Sony will only recycle Sony products for free. That
doesn't mean you can't bring all your other crap, too--you're certainly
more than welcome--but you're going to have to pay a standard recycling
fee. | | Posted: 8/18/2007 at 21:57 | Read 17 times | 0 comments | Leave Comment |

 | Analysts Fight Over Significance Of Weaker PS3 Mad | Okay, everybody knows it by now: Madden 08 runs at 60 FPS on Xbox
360 but only 30 FPS on PlayStation 3. (A comparison video is above.)
USA Today's docking of the PS3 version two points for the "sluggish"
gameplay is getting an inordinate amount of attention. But does it
matter? GameDaily asked industry analysts Michael Pachter and Ben
Schacter, and got answers as different as their rhyming names are
similar.
Pachter doesn't think so, but Schacter says: "Such detailed
discussions of slow frame rates and performance are not typically
considered important by Wall Street. But given Madden's popularity and
the volume of this debate, we think this is a more meaningful negative
for Sony than investors might realize, as it gives gamers just one more
reason not to buy a PS3 this year following the slip of GTA IV." | | Posted: 8/18/2007 at 21:53 | Read 11 times | 0 comments | Leave Comment |
