Apply Your Makeup And Sell It Too With Pink Papaya

Direct sales can be a great option for anyone interested in starting a flexible business. When the cost of joining an existing business is compared to the cost of starting a business from the ground up, or starting a franchise, it proves that direct sales can definitely be the work at home option for the average person.

Anne Harris-Holmes has been a Manager with Pink Papaya and she’s proof that success isn’t hard to come by, if you work at it. Any makeup-wearing woman can appreciate the mineral makeup and the spa quality skin care products that can be purchased through Anne and her website.

What is Pink Papaya‭? ‬How long have you been a Manager with them‭?‬

Pink Papaya is a Direct Sales company that is a member of the DSA.‭ ‬We offer Spa Quality aromatherapy and skin care products,‭ ‬jewelry and candles,‭ ‬and a new line of mineral makeup coming this month‭ ‬9/08.‭ ‬I have been with Pink Papaya for‭ ‬7‭ ‬months.

What do you like most about this business and what do you find really attracts women to this opportunity‭?‬

One of the most appealing things about this company is that it is such a ground floor opportunity.‭ ‬There are under‭ ‬400‭ ‬reps nationwide currently.‭ ‬This is such a great time to be a part of Pink Papaya.‭ ‬The product line is amazing‭!‬

Skating Costume Business Glides To Success

Burlington Free Press:

She’s never done a triple salchow but that doesn’t mean Laurie Hammond hasn’t been part of several gold medal figure skating performances.

Hammond owns Triple Loop, a skating and dance supply store in Colchester which has been around for almost 11 years.

Hammond is a seamstress and long had aspirations to be a clothing designer. Her four daughters were involved in figure skating and dance when they were young. Hammond began to design and sew their dresses and soon a business was born.

Hammond estimated at least half of all local skaters compete wearing her costumes. She also attends local competitions as a vendor, selling tights, performance makeup, hair decorations and skating clothing for dolls.

She also attracts out of town customers. Hammond guesses she makes at least 50 outfits each year.

A basic dress with just a few crystals can go for $130, but a fancy dress with more than 1,000 crystals might be as high as $800.

The cost includes an initial consultation and an early fitting to ensure the dress fits before the final touches are added.

Managers Start To Embrace Home Working

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

management-issues.com:

Most managers, if asked, would probably say they still prefer to be able to see the team they are managing. But, in an increasingly wired and global environment, the days of insisting workers are physically present in the office do look numbered, according to new research.

The number of people “teleworking” from home has risen dramatically over the past few years, the survey by the UK Confederation of British Industry and recruiter Pertemps has concluded.

Almost half of the more than 500 employers polled said they now offered teleworking to staff, a dramatic increase from the 14 per cent reported two years ago and 11 per cent in 2004.

The snapshot echoes the experience of employers in the U.S and Canada, where a survey of 2,700 employers earlier this month by World at Work found that teleworking had soared in popularity over the past 12 months.

More than four out of 10 U.S firms and a similar percentage in Canada now offered teleworking, though how many workers actually took the offer up remained a moot point.

How Twitter Can Help at Work

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The New York Times:

Twitter is a simple messaging service that you’ve either heard about a lot or not at all. Either way, it’s a fun and useful tool, well worth trying if you want to reach potential and existing customers, employees or employers.

Like blogging, Twitter lets you write messages that other people can read. Unlike blogging, Twitter limits your messages to 140 characters. (The previous two sentences absorbed exactly 140 characters.) Readers can choose to receive your Twitter updates (sometimes called “tweets”) on their phones, via IM, RSS or on the Web. The brevity, combined with the variety of delivery systems, make Twitter a powerful medium. Here are five ways to harness it:

1. Share ideas.
2. Show respect.
3. Build your brand.
4. Engage customers.
5. Provide customer service.

Signing up for a Twitter account takes about 15 seconds. If you first want more detail on how the service works, check out the Wikipedia entry or the “Twitter in Plain English” video. Still on the fence? Chris Brogan has 50 good ideas for using Twitter in business.
