I'm Sure you may have joined Yuwie for the revenue sharing dollars, but maybe you're thinking about pitching your business to others here on Yuwie  Before you send that first message or post a comment, here's what NOT to do.

Spam Messages:  Don't Do It

I've gotten all kinds of messages; some are totally in-your-face marketing -- I trash them after reading the first sentence.

Others are a bit more tactful, and these I will read.  They mention something about my profile (so I know they at least read it).  Maybe they tie in something on my profile to their business or product, and ask if they can send me information about it.  The messages are short and polite.  If it's for a product I might need in the future, I may keep the message.

So please -- don't spam people in messages with a heavy-duty pitch.  It will lose you more business than it will win.  Kind of like the old saying, "you catch more flies with honey than vinegar".

Don't Make Profile Comments All About Your Business

Another thing I've noticed is that some people leave long comments on other people's  that are only about themselves and their business.  How rude!  No "Hi, how are you" or "Thanks for the add" or anything.  Just a spam comment.

Sure, it's OK to put in a link to your business or product  in a polite way.  But make your comment about the other person, not about you.  Say something nice about them after reading their profile.  Ask a question.  Then you can add a discrete link at the end or let them know they can contact you for more information.

But whatever you do, don't leave spam comments.  All it does is hurt your reputation.

Be a Person, Not Just a Business

If I'm considering doing business with you, I want to know a little about you.  So put information in your profile...and not just about your business, either.  Tell me about yourself.  Post a picture or two.  Definitely put a click-able link to your business or product, in case I want to investigate.

And please, don't write your profile in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS (hard to read) or in the third person (IE. "Dion is a Distributor for Mona Vie  and is helping people all around the world change their lives . The results he has....")(You Get the Point).  Save that for a press release -- not for your profile.

But keep in mind that Yuwie is also a social network.  Sure, share your business, but also be social.  Not every encounter has to be about business.  We're here to have fun, too!
