 | Fastpitch Softball | My daughters, ages 12 and 15 play "select" or "travel" softball. They started playing when they were 6 years old. Of course, then it wasn't so fast, and it was called T-ball. They've come a long way. The season is in full swing and being that we live in a suburb of Seattle, we have to prepare for any type of weather. We've spend a weekend in 20 degree temperatures and a weekend in the sun and seventies.
When you have kids that play select ball, you have to plan for a whole day at the park - we've spent as many as 12 hours at the field some days. I have a Squidoo lens that talks about softball from a mom's perspective and also tells you how to pack for a tournament. You'll normally watch at least 3 games on Saturday, and depending on how well you do on Sunday, 1 to 3 or 4 games. On Sundays, you lose and you go home.
