| I'm moving! | Well, it's only to the "storage room", but it's still quite a task. We have been going through our junk in that room to make room for my desk and all of my equipment. It's unbelievable on how much stuff a family can accumulate in eight years. It's mostly baby clothes, unwanted toys, and stuff that I had put in there "for now" a few years ago.
So now, for the next few days, I'll be working on that room. I won't be online much, but that's nothing new. We have been working on that room for a little while now. But now, I'm only a couple days away of having an "office" and it's kind of exciting.
Of course this won't be just an office, unfortunately. We don't have that many extra rooms in the house so it will be used for homeschooling the kids and a guest room.
The plans are in the works for a Murphy bed. We'll only need the room for guests around the holidays. So this makes the most sense.
I'm so excited, I just can't hide it.

 | So, I'm back to blogging | I've been quite busy. We have been re-arranging some rooms, trying to make an office/guest room out of our storage room. Unfortunately, the storage room is the only place for our, well, storage. We are going to have quite the yard sale next spring.
It's been difficult with taking care of two kids in diapers. So I decided to quit all of my online ventures for a little while. At least until I can go 1 hour without being interrupted. Finally, it doesn't take all day to do dishes. Babies have no concept of time. 5 minutes, to them, is way too long without mommy. Sometimes one would be okay, while the other would become clingy. It makes it difficult to keep up with housework. Blogging on a daily basis was nearly impossible.
Soon after the office is finished, I will be back on YouTube. That won't be for a while, though. Possibly not until next month.
In the meantime, I will be blogging here more often.

 | 5 minute Chocolate Cake! No, Really! | My husband was browsing the internet yesterday when he came across this page:
"Chocolate Cake in 5 Minutes!"
The first thing I said was, "Whoa, that's bad for a diet." I don't bake, although I know how, mainly because I loved baked goods a little too much. It's easy to not bake, however, simply because there's a mess afterwards.
But now, THIS?! 5 minutes, no real mess except a fork and cup?!
What's more, you wait for it as long as you would wait in line behind that lady who always writes check for five items and then realizes that she doesn't have a pen, and then forgets what store she's in, and then realizes after all, she doesn't have enough money in her account but lo and behold, she has enough pennies to make up the $11.53 that her groceries cost...
I gave in to temptation. Fortunately, I have five kids to share with.

 | No kids, no jobs for growing number of wives | So, the growing trend right now is mothers staying home with their kids. This has been accepted, finally, and really isn't considered as being lazy. At least that was my perception, anyway.
But what if a woman chooses to stay home, even if she doesn't have kids? According to the article (link) she stays home, cooks really good meals, clips coupons, and has a few hobbies.
Personally, I would be bored to death. I remember when I didn't have kids. I decided stay home for the first three months of our marriage because I didn't want to start a job only to quit immediately. I was pretty efficient at cleaning and really had nothing to do all day, except chat a little online, surf the internet, and then take a walk to get Dunkin' Doughnuts Coffee.
When we moved near Bloomington, IN, I immediately applied at Lowes Home Improvement Center. I got the job and started working in the Outside lawn and Garden Department.
It was the first full time retail job I actually liked. For one thing, I was able to work outside all day, unless I got hot, then I would work in the Greenhouse for a little while, then it was back outside.
You were required to study, which I did. They had all kinds of information that would would have to pay a lot of money for in the form of books. A lot of that information I still use when dealing with plants and gardening.
I guess if I remained childless longer, I may have found more things to do other than work and keep our small cabin clean. Come to think of it, after having five kids, I have no idea what I did with the time I had then, but I guess it's all a matter of perspective.
What do you think? Should a woman, or even a man stay home even if (s)he didn't have kids?

 | Seniors Work-off Property Tax | Apparently, if you are at the age of 60-65, you can work to reduce your tax debt. (link)
On the surface, this looks good. For some reason, however, it reminds me on how people would sell themselves into slavery to pay off debt.
Okay, maybe it's extreme, but think about it. The state starts to charge more than people can afford to pay in property taxes. As the economy plunges, and more people get behind in property taxes, is it really a stretch to think that all but the rich will be working for the state?
Better start making money - and fast!
