 | Viruses | Hi everyone.
This is my first blog entry and unfortunately it has to be on the subject of VIRUSES!!
Since joining just a few days ago, I have encountered 2 Trojan type viruses when clicking on profiles.
May I urge you all to please, please install, use and update good virus protection! The emphasis being on UPDATE.
Please be aware that if you run more than one anti-virus package they may conflict and cancel each other out.
Please be aware that you do not have to pay a fortune for virus protection. You can download for FREE excellent programs that WORK.
My son is a computer engineer and spends a considerable amount of time, removing viruses from computers that have gradually slowed to a complete stop because they are choked up with viruses, the owners being totally unaware that their virus protection is no longer working.
Two excellent packages to run in conjunction are:
Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic - This will automatically update at a time you set that is convenient for you, say at dinner time while you are eating. It will give you an audible warning when a virus tries to gain entry, and will give you options on what you want to do with the virus.
Spybot - Search & Destroy. - This program needs to be manually updated and set to run to seek out and remove any unwanted viruses and cookies. I do it every week, or whenever I think I may have been in danger of being infected.
These two programs will run in conjunction with each other and offer excellent cover.
Both are downloadable and both are FREE.
Please take heed and help to keep our community virus free!
