A Mayonnaise Jar and Two Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost

too much to handle, When 24 Hours in

a day are not enough, remember The

mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy

class and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly, he

picked up a very large and empty

mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it

with golf balls. He then asked the

students if the jar was full.

They agreed that it was.

The Professor then picked up a box of

pebbles and poured them into the jar.

He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles

rolled into the open areas between the

golf balls..  He then asked the students

again if the jar was full.

They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box

of sand and poured it into the jar.

Of course, the sand filled up everything

else.  He asked once more if the jar was

full. The students responded with a

unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups

of coffee from under the table and poured

the entire contents into the jar, effectively

filling the empty space between the sand.

The students laughed.  "Now" said the

professor, as the laughter subsided,
"I want you to recognize that this jar

represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things --
your God, family, your children, your

health, your friends, and your favorite

passions-- things that if everything

else was lost and only they remained,

your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that

matter like your job, your house, and

your car.  The sand is everything

else -- the small stuff.   If you put the

sand into the jar first, he continued,
there is no room for the pebbles

or the golf balls.

The same goes for life. If you spend

all your time and energy on the small

stuff, you will never have room for the

things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are

critical to your happiness. Play with

your children. Take time to get medical

checkups.  Take your Partner out to

dinner. Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean

the house, and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first -- the

things that really matter.  Set your

priorities. The rest is just sand.

One of the students raised her hand

and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked.

It just goes to show you that no matter how full
your life may seem, there's always room for
a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

About Sister Lucy

I have had several people ask me about the name

‘Sister Lucy’…
wanting to know if I am a nun and if I do the

things like Sister Teresa did, if I am a preacher,

pastor, etc.

I would like to tell you a little about

myself and maybe it will clear up some

questions about myself and our ministry.

I am a born again, spirit filled, ordained

minister of the Gospel.  My husband and I

were ordained at the same time in the

Full Gospel Church, [Good Shephered Church,

of Jamestown, Tn.] where we served as

Associate pastors for three years.

We believe the Bible just like it is written,

not adding to or taking away. We believe

that Jesuswas born of a virgin and died on

the cross for our sins and rose in three days

and is at the right hand of the Father making

intercession for us.  We believe that Jesus

is the door and is the only way to enter into

the Kingdom of God. Jesus died for our sins

that we become Heir and joint Heir with Him.

We don't believe that we are perfect, but

we believe that we are forgiven.

We were in full time Evangelistic work for

several years before we were Associate

Pastors, then the Lord brought us back

into Evagelistic work.

We have been in Evangelism full time for

over six years this last time.  We travel a

lot in the ministry, singing and ministering

in churches, Prisons, nursing homes, camp

meetings, brush arbors, reunions, family

gatherings and where ever the Lord places us.

We have six children living [one with the Lord],

7 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons.

We are truly blessed!

Also we don't want to leave out our precious little

dogs that 'think' they are human, LaLa, a little

Malteze and Little Britches our precious toy poodle.

We do have CD’s and I am in the process

of getting samples on the web.

 http://www.geocities.com/thelowes1997/musiccds.html

I hope this has cleared up some questions a

bout us and our ministry.  If we can be of

any help to anyone, please let us know.

We love to revival, and hold concerts, telling

everyone about the love of our Savior.

Have a Jesus filled day.!

Being Thankful

Here are some things that
we need to be think about....

I AM THANKFUL:

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING

DISHES BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS

AT HOME, NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED .

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT

BECAUSE IT MEANS WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH. .

FOR THE PARKING SPOT I FIND AT THE
FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION
.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN
CHURCH WHO SINGS OFF KEY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY

BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF IN
THE EARLY MORNING HOURS

BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.

AND I AM THANKFUL:
FOR THE crazy people I work with
BECAUSE they make work interesting and fun!

AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE ? IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS
WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

Live well, Laugh often, & Love with all of your heart!

Be blessed and have a Jesus filled day.

UNFOLDING THE ROSEBUD 10-14-08

 UNFOLDING THE ROSEBUD

It is only a tiny rosebud,
 A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

 The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so sweetly,
When in my hands they fade and die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
 This flower of God's design,
Then how can I think I have wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in Him for His leading
 Each moment of every day.
I will look to him for His guidance
Each step of the pilgrim way.

The pathway that lies before me,
 Only my Heavenly Father knows.
I'll trust Him to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

Seasons Of My Life 9-6-08

~Seasons Of My Life~

There is a time for every purpose.

To everything there is a season

And, because I believe in a loving God,

I know there must be a good reason.

As I look back over my life, I plainly see

There are seasons in my life, as well.

God has perfect plans for each

And everyone, and here are mine to tell.

In the Summer, I work, diligently,

On all that God has assigned to me.

During the Autumn, I can harvest the things

From earlier times, you see.

Sometimes, Winter brings hardship and struggles.

But, this I truly know,

God brings these things and gives me strength

So that, spiritually, I'll grow.

And finally, there's another Springtime;

With fruitfulness and much joy.

It's a time to see what God had planned.

Each day is like a new toy.

With all of this, He gives me grace

To overcome the cold winters and sorrow

And I will always remember,

That with God,

There will always be a tomorrow.

These seasons may span many

Years

And, even though I am old and gray,

God will always love me.

I will continue to see His blessings everyday.

He is such a merciful and loving God,

Even giving me times of quiet and rest.

Without a doubt, eternal life

With my Lord Jesus, will always be the best.

~Author Unknown to me

The bible teaches us that

there is a time and a season

for everything.

Just like the trees, as they

Go thru the spring time,

Budding and leafing out,

In the summer, with it’s

Strength and elegance,

Then fall time comes,

Everything begins getting

Dry, sheds its leaves,

Then dormat for the winter.

We, as people go thru some

Of these seasons also.

When we look back, we can

See just where it all happened.

In the fall time [our season of fall]

We need to shed everything that

Don’t need to be in our lives.

Then we go thru the dormant

Time letting the Lord teach us.

By spring time, we can begin to

Grow and strengthen for our

Duties in the summer.

There are certainly seasons for

Our soul.

Be blessed,

Sister Lucy
