my absence: One surgery that became two(UPDATE)

I haven't been on here much any way cause I have a lot of things going on in my life right now. but talking with my friends and sending have a good day comments to them or just saying hi made the days a little easier.
Oh well! I will be having back surgery on Tuesday Dec 16th.. He will be operating on the L1-L2 disk because this is the worse one right now. It is herniated and is compressing against the thecal sac in my spine.Their is a picture of the MRI in my pictures section.
On the outside:
I am grateful that I should be able to walk standing  straight up without having my upper body  uncontrollably  bend forward and backward on me. Being able to walk without the pain the the hip and leg increasing with each step will feel so wonderful.
But on the inside:
Falling backward and not being able to stop myself scares the hell out of me. Having to yell catch me and hope someone is close enough isn't fun. But then their are times when I start to go and a hand of a friend or family member reaches out to me right away.
Yeah I know back surgery has its risks. Mine is a little more complicated due to my blood deficiency.I started taking an alternative blood thinner call lovenox. My last shot will be Monday morning. Thank god I wasn't stuck with the bill for these shots. 10 syringes of the medicine costs $4,000. No typo there folks.4 thousand dollars.

I don't know how long I will be away from the computer. I am hoping that when I get home from the hospital, I can get someone to help me get online. It will suck having my computer on the desk next to me and I can't use it. But who knows.Time will tell thats for sure. lol.

UPDATE:

After my surgery, I was experiencing symptoms that I didn't have before. The Dr. kept a close eye on things. On Jan 5th he ordered an emergency MRI. By 4:15 p.m. that day I was once again in a MRI machine. Alittle longer this time because they decided to use contrast as well. The Dr was calling during the procedure for an update. I finished the MRI and went upstairs to wait for the films. The receptionist immediately called my name and told me that my Dr. would like to speak to me. I knew it wasn't good. The Dr. told me something "popped" out and I needed to go straight to his office.

Jan. 5, 6:10 p.m. I walked into my Dr.s office. He showed me the MRI where the same disk herniated once again. He said that he was going to perform emergency surgery on me by the end of the week. I needed to be cleared by my PCP and Hematologist the very next day. I  had to find out how to get my blood level back down to normal by friday. Believe it or not that was the simple part. I just had to take a vitamin K pill on Wednesday and I would be good to go for Friday. Believe it or not Worker's comp wouldn't pay for the $5 vitamin K pill. So I got cleared by both Dr.s. Took the vitaminK pill on Wednesday. Had to sign all the paperwork on Thursday and be to t he hospital by 8 am on Friday morning.

Two surgeries  on the same disk in the matter of 24 days. How depressing. But still I had to keep the positive attitude.

My blood pressure was up. No wonder why. All the pressure and the pain I was in. I couldn't take any medicine for the pain. Of course we had to wait for the O.R. to open up. They never start on time. lol. I was wheeled into the operating room 2 hours late. Seeing familar faces and getting introduced to some new ones. I of course started joking around with all of them just like the first time. Before I went under my Dr. took each of his hand's and place them on each side of my face. He looked me straight in the eyes and told me "Don't worry I will take good care of you!" Finally I went under

I remember waking up in the recovery room and seen my Dr. He comes over and says, "Hey beautiful! the surgery went well. But he didn't like the way I was bleeding during surgery."....

The next thing I remember is opening my eyes and having a nurse telling me to just relax.. Ok. Whatever!lol. Close my eyes once again. When I had visitors that night they were concerned that I was in the progressive care unit. Well lucky me I had a drain put in my back. I spent the next 4 days in the hospital.

It was finally time to go home. It was stressed that I take it really easy. Hey no problem. I don't want to go in for another surgery.

When I went to my appointment, I asked why I was put in the progressive care unit. The one nurse told me that I had palpitations. The Dr. who seen me that day told me that my regular (spine) Dr. put me in there because of the bleeding. They also found a vessel that was bleeding and had to fix it too.

I continue to have some problems. Like the forward and backward motion has once again come back. I have no reason why.  I get to go back to the Dr's next week. So we shall see what's next... I will keep you posted...

Mine is a little more complicated due to my blood deficiency. Having to be taken off my medicine for so many days to have my blood level to a "normal" reading to help prevent excessive bleeding.

People have always been telling me that things will get better financially, physically, and emotionally. Sometimes I have thought they were just saying this to make me feel better. But then almost a month ago something God's faith sent me a sign....
My brother had done some work for a friend of a friend. But when he walked into my house, something seemed so familiar about him. As time went on that night it all started to become clearer. We went to elementary school and one year of junior high together. He grew up just up the street.  He even remembered my name. lol.
He had our friend to ask if it was alright to call me. My response was I don't really like talking on the phone. (which is the truth) But Thanksgiving night my brother handed the phone over to me. Well long after our houses got quiet, we were still talking. The only reason we had to end our conversation was that our damn cordless phones went dead. lol.
Words can not express how good it feels to find a child hood friend after all these years. To feel that connection is priceless....

Well it is almost time to go to the Dr. All the mixed emotions going. I am trying to keep them under control. Especially in front of my kids. I don't need them to worry more than they are. I will try to keep everyone posted on things. But when you don't see me on here for a while you will know why.
I want to thank all my wonderful friend who leave me messages to help brighten my day. I will be thinking of all of you while I am away from yuwie.

YOU WOULD NEVER BELIEVE WHAT IS BEHIND THIS FAMILY
YOU HAVE TO READ THIS FIRST BEFORE LOOKING AT PICTURE.

Family on holiday in Australia for a week and a half when husband, wife and their 15 year old son decided to go scuba diving. The husband is in the navy and has had some scuba experience. His son wanted a picture of his mum and dad in all their gear so he got the under water camera ready to go. When it came to taking the picture the dad realized that the son looked like he was panicking as he took it and gave the 'OK' hand sign to see if he was all right.

The son took the picture and swam to the surface and back to the boat as quick as he could so the mum and dad followed to see if he was OK. When they got back to him he was scrambling onto the boat and absolutely panicking. When the parents asked why he said 'there was a shark behind you.' The dad thought he was joking but the skipper of the boat said it was true but they wouldn't believe him. As soon as they got back to the hotel they loaded the picture onto the laptop and this is what they saw.

(Try and tell me you wouldn't have emptied your Entire digestive system right at the point you saw it)

Would you have stayed to take the picture??

Maybe what saved there ass was that the shark wasn't hungry, they were in the water not on the surface, and there was no fear coming from them - only because they were not aware. Probably better that the kid didn't point for them to look behind them.

THE HAND OF HOPE. AMAZING PHOTO

A picture began circulating in November. It should be 'The Picture of the Year,' or perhaps, 'Picture of the Decade.' It won't be. In fact, unless you obtained a copy of the US paper which published it, you probably
would never have seen it.

The picture is that of a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon named Joseph Bruner.

The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother's womb. Little Samuel's mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta .. She knew of Dr. Bruner's remarkable
surgical procedure. Practicing at Vanderbilt University Medical Centerin Nashville, he performs these special operatio ns while the baby is still in the womb.

During the procedure, the doctor removes the uterus via C-section and makes a small incision to operate on the baby. As Dr.Bruner completed the surgery on Samuel, the little guy reached his tiny, but fully developed
hand through the incision and firmly grasped the surgeon's finger. Dr.Bruner was reported as saying that when his finger was grasped, it was the most emotional moment of his life, and that for an instant during the procedure he was just frozen, totally immobile.

The photograph captures this amazing event with perfect clarity The editors titled the picture, 'Hand of Hope.' The text explaining the picture begins, 'The tiny hand of 21-week-old fetus Samuel Alexander Armas emerges from the mother's uterus to grasp the finger of Dr. Joseph Bruner as if thanking the doctor for the gift of life.'

Little Samuel's mother said they 'wept for days' when they saw the picture. She said, 'The photo reminds us pregnancy isn't about disability or an illness, it's about a little person.'Samuel was born in perfect health, the operation 100 percent successful.

Now see the actual picture, and it is awesome...incredible....and hey,
pass it on. The world needs to see this one!
